Shabbat: Phone Rest · Orbit Software LLC · Last updated October 18, 2026

Summary

Shabbat does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no ads and makes no network requests. Everything it needs stays on your device.

What stays on your device

Deleting the app deletes all of it.

iPhone: Screen Time

On iPhone, Shabbat uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity) to block apps during the schedule. The apps you pick are given to Shabbat by iOS as opaque tokens: Shabbat cannot see which apps they are, and iOS does not share your app usage with it.

Android: Accessibility Service

On Android, Shabbat uses the Accessibility Service API for one purpose: to know which app is being opened, so it can cover apps you did not allow with the Shabbat screen during the schedule. It does not read screen content, what you type, or any personal information, and it does not store or transmit the names of the apps you open. You are asked for consent before it is turned on, and you can turn it off at any time outside the schedule in Settings → Accessibility.

Shabbat also uses Do Not Disturb access to silence notifications during the schedule, letting only calls from your starred contacts ring. It reads and changes only Do Not Disturb settings.

Children

Shabbat does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes
